Laslo Olah, a veteran in the High Technology sector, is the founder, President and CEO of the Texas Institute of Science. Mr. Olah is a current Advisory Board Member of the International Center for Decision and Risk Analysis.
The Institute is based upon his theory of global multi-discipline, multi-site, real-time R&D. The model he has developed and implemented enables small to multinational firms to accomplish what has heretofore only been available to the largest of companies in special sectors.
TxIS’ other division works on global sourcing of laboratory level Intellectual Property, Innovation and Invention (IP). The Institute assists inventors to evaluate, develop, legally protect, finance and market their IP. The unique nature of this business is that TxIS is the first company worldwide that builds and operates its IP sourcing at the laboratory (pre-patent) stage.
TxIS relies on ten years of experience in the international high-tech sourcing, consulting and contracting business. TxIS was established by acquiring the Gamma Group, also founded and headed by Mr. Olah. In 1989, before establishing Gamma, Mr. Olah founded Lester Audio Laboratories, Inc. The company designed and developed the first high-definition, high-speed multi channel fiber optic audio transmission system in the industry. This required two successful rounds of financing and the development of a new theory of fiber optic design, both of which are classic venture startup challenges. In 1993 the system was awarded a patent (#5060273), and was used by leading broadcasting stations and studios for events such as the Goodwill Games.
During this same period of time Mr. Olah developed a patented computer system security platform (#6446119) that provides total security for network and non-network based operations.
Mr. Olah is a graduate of the Technical University of Budapest, holding EECSc and MSCSc degrees. He emigrated to the United States in the late 1980’s and became a US Citizen in the mid 1990’s. He is a Chairman of the Board of DB Funds Inc., a worldwide educational non-profit organization, and a Rotary International Paul Harris Fellow.
